The sad fact of the matter is that when it comes to malware, there’s not site on the Web that you can trust.

In a Web Attacks: How Hackers Create and Spread Malware webinar presented by Sophos, the first starling fact delivered is that 85 percent of all malware is distributed via legitimate Web sites.

The numbers get progressively worse from there as Sophos Web security expert Chris McCormack and Sophos principal research Fraser Howard go on to detail how pervasive the malware problem really is.
After describing the true scope of the problem, Howard then goes into detail about how malware gets distributed, while McCormack follows up with a description of what Sophos is doing to try to mitigate the impact of malware on enterprise systems.

Unfortunately, it becomes pretty clear from this presentation that there is very little we can do to stop the problem in the first place – TWM1.
