When it comes to databases, there really isn’t anything such as too fast.

In a Maximize Oracle Database Efficiency with New EMC Symmetrix V-Max webinar, a pitch is made for adopting EMC’s latest storage array based on faster performance and simplified provisioning.

Unfortunately, there’s not much here is terms of information of the return on making that investment. In this economy, making that kind of investment represents a substantial financial commitment that might be pretty hard to justify.

There’s some good information about the potential value of flash drive technology, which EMC claims to have implemented first. But basically this entire event is dedicated to the virtues of the Symmetric V-Max. As a result, there are no comparisons made to any other product on the market.
