In the current regulatory climate a lot of IT organizations tend to overlook how much sensitive data is being shared across Web conferencing systems.
In a Secure Web Conferencing by Adobe webinar, an independent consultant highlights the potential data governance and security issues associated with Web conferencing.
James Lockman says that as a Flash-based system, Adobe’s Connect web conferencing system has been become secure thanks to years of usage and development. In addition, Adobe has included in the software the ability for IT organizations to turn off, for example, desktop sharing, windows sharing, application sharing or the sharing or files.
None of those governance capabilities, however, requires a whole lot of IT intervention to set up. Furthermore, Lockman points out that as a Flash-based platform, Adobe Connect can work on any platform, includes video conferencing and does not require users to call in using a separate number to hear the audio portion of a presentation.
